December Show and Share (Fiction)
Directions: Choose only 1 square for the month of December. Be ready to present on your assigned day during the week of Dec. 5th. Be sure to read a fictional picture book. Please remember to write down your 2-3 sentence presentation. Please have your child practice at home with making eye contact, using a loud, clear voice, and having good posture.

- Make a flow chart that tells the main events of the story in order. Illustrate the events.
- Tell me whether or not you would recommend this book to any of your friends. Who would you recommend it to and why?
- Find three new words in the story you read. Look the words up in a dictionary to find out the meaning and then write a sentence with each word.
- Write three questions that you had while you were reading. (This can include tricky words).
- Read a holiday poem and write 5 rhyming words that you found. If there weren’t any rhyming words, tell 5 tricky words you found.
- Describe the main character of the story. Draw a picture of him/her, write 2-3 character traits and tell what in the story made you think that (proof).
- Did the story remind you of any other stories you have ever read? Tell me which book and why?
